Thais & Hadestown 💛

What a special day for our wonderful friend Thais! ✨

We had the joy of sending Thais and her family to see Hadestown on Broadway — and the magic didn’t end when the curtain came down.

After the show, so many members of the incredible Hadestown company took the time to meet Thais, welcome her backstage, share stories, take photos, and make an already unforgettable experience that much more extraordinary.

We are endlessly grateful to the wonderful stage management team led by our incredible friend Stacey, and cast members — Jasmin Savoy , Norbert Leo Butz , Jeffrey Cornelius , Ben Davis , kelly belarmino! , KC Dela Cruz , Malcolm Armwood , Alex Puette & emily afton — for surrounding Thais and her family with such warmth and generosity.

And to top off a beautiful day, our wonderful partners at 5 Napkin Burger treated Thais and her family to a special post-show dinner — the perfect ending to an unforgettable Broadway experience. 💛

We see again and again just how much these moments mean to our Broadway Hearts Backstage families. When members of the Broadway community give their time so generously, they create memories that extend far beyond one afternoon at the theatre. The excitement, connection, and joy stay with our kids and their families long after they leave.

Gabby 💘

Some people just have that thing — the kind of energy that lights up a room the second they walk into it. Our extraordinary 🩷 GABRIELLA SORRENTINO 🩷 is one of those people. ✨

Here she is singing from — one of our favorite requests and a song that feels especially perfect coming from Gabby. 💫

Gabby has been volunteering with Broadway Hearts for eight years! Eight years of bringing her incredible voice, huge heart, kindness, humor, joy, and unmistakable Gabby magic to the children and families we serve. Whether participating in our outreach visits, or helping us create unforgettable backstage experiences at Hamilton and Boop! The Betty Boop Musical , her generosity knows no bounds. ⭐️

We couldn’t feel luckier to have her as part of the fabric of our Broadway Hearts family.

Sometimes, a little Broadway magic comes together at just the right moment. ✨

We recently had the joy of creating a very special, last-minute Broadway Hearts Backstage experience for an incredible young friend named Gianna.

With only a short window of time before Gianna went back into treatment for bone cancer, so many wonderful people jumped at the chance to help us create an unforgettable experience for Gianna and her family. ⭐️

Gianna joined us at Wicked the Musical , where our dear friend Ellen Harvey helped arrange an extraordinary backstage surprise. Between shows, the exceptional Keri René Fuller , Jenna Bainbridge , Emma Flynn Bespolka & Daniel Quadrino joined us on their dinner break to come meet Gianna, and our wonderful friend Jonathan Bach , a WICKED stage manager, treated her and her family to a super special backstage tour. 🎶

A giant thank you as well to the incredible backstage crew, who went above and beyond to ensure the backstage area was accessible so Gianna could enjoy every moment.

And the magic didn’t end there! Gianna went home with special posters and programs autographed by the entire cast— a wonderful reminder of an unforgettable day. 🤍

This is exactly what Broadway Hearts Backstage is all about: giving remarkable kids a moment away from treatment, surrounding them with the magic of Broadway, and hopefully creating joyful new memories they can carry with them through whatever challenges may lie ahead.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day possible. There really is no heart quite like the Broadway community. 💚

We love our virtual Broadway Hearts Bingo visits with our friends at M Health Fairview Pediatrics SO much! We had so many kids participate and call in with BINGO! 🎉

We feel so fortunate that we have the opportunity to offer these incredible children a special, music and laughter filled half hour to be joyful. 🩵

And look at this extraordinary group of volunteers! We are the luckiest.

This is our why. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to visit and share music with these extraordinary kids and their families. 🩵

‘It was so profound and heartwarming to see the smiles of the children and parents throughout the Broadway Hearts Singalong event.
For a brief hour, we were all able to carve out a moment where we could focus on being silly, joining in on singing with joy, and for that short time forget the painful realty that our children live each day with chemotherapy, radiation, vision loss, neuropathy, MRIs, blood tests, and the list goes on. Thank you for the joyful hour of restoring our souls, one song at a time.’

Ashley! 💘

One of our most song requests is “Popular” from Wicked the Musical. We receive at least two requests per visit, and we love it too! 💚

Here’s our incredible volunteer Ashley Rose Arcement 🌹 NYC + Travel Mom Life charming us all, as she always does. We are so fortunate!

This visit was a virtual, multi-hospital Broadway Hearts Singalong, with nine (9!) hospitals joining us from across the country! We love connecting kids from all over who are facing similar medical challenges, singing their favorite songs and being an uplifting part of their day.

I had the incredible honor of sitting down with at the historic New York Stock Exchange to talk about all things Broadway Hearts.

We covered so much — my years performing in on Broadway, the moment I knew that could be something really special, the experience of walking into a hospital room and seeing a child light up when they hear a familiar song, our extraordinary volunteers, and why sometimes the smallest moments end up having the greatest impact.

Thank you Jeffrey, for welcoming me on to your fantastic show, for championing our mission and for such a fun, thoughtful conversation! I’m so grateful.
