Welcome to the Global Coalition for Peace and Security, where our ideas meet practice as we continue to interrogate the causes of conflict around the world, and work with stakeholders to find lasting solutions to global nuclear threats, combating transnational and organized crimes, preventing and countering violent extremism, empower women, and contain violence against women, prevent the emergence of new nuclear states and stop the proliferation of the world most dangerous bombs wherever they exist.

The GlobalCops is launching the "Messengers of Peace Mission" Project, it's going to be incredible, challenging but more importantly rewarding. We need people who are committed to humanitarian projects and love traveling to join us on this mission as we are going to hit the road to more than 8 countries, from Syria to Libya, North Korea to Islamabad.

Today, we are coming face to face with the refugees from war-torn nations and witnessing first-hand the consequences of not doing enough or playing politics with issues that could have mattered. The situation has hit home as we speak, we have seen one terrorist attack from another in our major cities around the world, and we are gradually beginning to understand that none of us is immune to the ripple effects of armed conflicts, terrorism, violent extremism, transnational and organized crime.

Preventing nuclear terrorism has been at the heart of our work at GlobalCops since our founding. After 9/11, we imagined what would have been the casualties if the terrorists who attacked the USA had access to Nuclear materials of dirty bombs. Events after events have shown that terrorist gangs are constantly in search of nuclear materials, and they also know how to build a bomb, the questions now are no longer how but when will they acquire a nuclear weapon.

Proliferations of nuclear materials in our world today is a testament to the challenges we face with nuclear terrorism. We should all remember that in July of 2011 in Moldova, six men were arrested and were in procession of 4 Grams of Highly Enriched Uranium, they claimed to have 9 Kilograms more, 1/3 of the amount that is enough for a nuclear weapon. Their leader escaped and the highly enriched Uranium was never found.
We are living in a very frightening era and national capitals are not even thinking through these issues, and proffering solutions because no one knows where it will hit from. But there is hope, we can continue to mobilize global citizens and national governments to increase homeland security efforts, invest more in counter-terrorism measures especially on DE radicalization and defeating the fundamental extremists appeal and building strong citizenship in our various countries.

We must encourage the threat-reduction program that aims at securing and removing at-risk nuclear materials from sites around the globe.

The good news is that the number of countries storing these dangerous materials has dropped from a high of 52 in 1992. The bad news is that increasingly well-organized and well-funded terrorist organizations—which now have easy access to the know-how needed to build a bomb— have declared their intent to seek the materials necessary for weapons of mass destruction.

At GlobalCops, we promote independent, unbiased, systematic, and professional analyses on issues of nuclear nonproliferation, violent extremism and terrorism, atomic energy, transnational and organized crimes with a special emphasis on the nexus between multilateral engagements and state parties on these issues.

While we acknowledge multilateral engagements and efforts on issues of peace and security, we underscore the unwavering power and difference which state parties could make if it is willing, engaged and committed in complementing multilateral efforts. To enable such complementarity, the GlobalCops facilitates networking engagements among experts in the academia, policy field and independent think-tanks in the United States and abroad who are involved in related studies or work, and we achieve thhi through organizing international workshops, round tables, and conferences.

We have to start addressing the gendered dimensions to violence that have a disproportionate and differing impact on women.

The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) policy recognizes that women must be critical actors in all our efforts to achieve sustainable international peace and security hence they are the prime target in times of war and conflict. The WPS policy aims at promoting a gendered perspective and women’s equal and meaningful participation in peace processes, and state-building.
