Only one week until the Fortis Fellowship application closes! Current Fellow Liana Wang was selected to be one of 32 Rhodes Scholarship recipients this year. This world renowned and highly competitive Fellowship will grant Liana funding to pursue a Master’s Degree at the University of Oxford. As an Economics student in her final year at Yale University, she plans to further her education in Economics, focusing on labor, public finance, and social policy to address wealth inequalities.

Current Fellow Aleksander Pajewski studies Mathematics, Statistics, and Business at the The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE. Pictured here at the LSE SU Polish Economic Forum 2019, Aleks (right) announced the winners of the LSE SU Polish Business Society Startup Challenge. Aleks has been offered an internship with AiFi in Silicon Valley where he will learn about technology, automation, and product development.

Apply now to the Fortis Fellowship! Current Fellow Sandra Ohemeng is completing her final year at Wellesley College studying International Relations. Pictured above with Former US Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, Sandra was selected to be one of 40 students from Wellesley to participate in a fellowship at The Albright Institute for Global Affairs. Sandra presented a group project on "Boko Haram and the Small Arms Trade: Impact on Women and Girls” to Dr. Albright and The Institute.

Fortis Fellowship applications are open until March 26! Current Fellow Muhammad Gondal studies finance at Bentley University in Massachusetts. Last summer, he interned at Bank of America in New York City working in Global Transaction Services. After his internship, he was offered a full time position with Bank of America beginning this summer. Muhammad is passionate about Socially Responsible Investing, which takes into account ethics and sustainability when making an investment. His goal is to start a major fund that, in addition to providing returns to investors, also contributes to the betterment of society.

Fortis Fellowship applications are open now! Apply through March 26, 2020! Fortis Fellows are excellent students as well as active community leaders. Current Fellow Asmaa Hadir studies Computer Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and is one of four Moroccan students to receive The U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Tomorrow’s Leaders full scholarship in 2018. Pictured here, Asmaa, along with Fortis Fellow Ibtihal Aboussad founded and ran a summer camp in Essaouira, Morocco, called Girl Leaders for Change قائدات من أجل التغيير in June 2019. The summer camp benefited more than 35 girls aged 14-16 with workshops and team activities aimed at improving their self-confidence and empowering them as leaders in their community. The program received funding from the US Embassy Rabat and partnered with NGOs including Association Anoual.

Apply to the Fortis Fellowship today! Current Fellow Dalton Price studies Anthropology and Infectious Disease Biology at Cornell University. Last summer, Dalton interned at the World Health Organization Egypt. He is pictured here in the WHO Office in Cairo where he was researching antimicrobial resistance. Working with the WHO helped Dalton gain a comprehensive understanding of the threat of infectious diseases around the world.

As a Business Administration student studying International Economics, she deepened her understanding of France’s complicated history and political relations with French Africa. While studying abroad, she traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, where she is pictured here at the Blue Mosque.

Apply to the Fortis Fellowship today! Fortis Fellow Ronit Kanwar is impacting the world through his social enterprise. He co-founded the start-up Empower Energy, which is connecting rural India to the modern economy by distributing life changing technologies such as solar lights. During the One Young World Challenge, Ronit won a $50,000 USD prize in funding as well as 12 months’ mentorship from a team of BP mentors. Ronit is pictured here (right) in a still from a video by BP showcasing Empower Energy at work in India.
