Birch Family Services was proud to be represented at the 14th Annual InterAgency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies, Inc. (IAC) Conference by our leadership team as our President & CEO Matt Sturiale had the honor of presenting the Family Advocacy Awards, recognizing Rachelle Kivanoski and Meri Krassner. Our Chief Financial and Operating Officer Josh Scher also shared his expertise as a panelist on "Risk & Resilience: Lessons from High-Performing Behavioral Health Organizations", contributing to important conversations shaping the future of services and supports for people with autism and developmental disabilities.

We are grateful to be part of a community that comes together to learn, collaborate, and champion opportunities that empower individuals and families to thrive!

A Sweet Journey to Success! 🎓🍭

Our Washington Heights Education Center celebrated graduation and moving up with a Candy Land-themed ceremony, reminding us that every educational journey has its twists, turns, but with perseverance, support, and friends, everyone can finish as a winner!

Families filled the room with pride as students took the stage to perform songs before proudly accepting their diplomas. The celebration ended on the sweetest note of all, with treats and hugs shared by graduates, families, and staff.

Congratulations to our incredible graduates! Your next adventure is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes you.

🧡💙Orange and blue has always looked good around here!

Today, students across our schools showed off their New York pride by wearing their favorite Knicks jerseys and team colors as New York gets ready for tonight's return to NYC for the NBA Finals. Students made Knicks-themed sweet treats and worked on their creativity and fine motor development by coloring basketball-themed coloring pages. On the playground, our young athletes worked on their gross motor skills by shooting and throwing basketballs, just like the pros!

As a proud New York organization, we couldn't help but notice that we share the same iconic blue and orange color scheme making today the perfect opportunity to celebrate our hometown team while showing off our Birch pride.

Birch Family Services was proud to participate in a recent City Year career fair, where we had the opportunity to meet with young passionate individuals interested in preparing for their future and the workforce.

Learning is looking sweet as we head into Summer! 🍦

Our students at the Long Island City Early Childhood Center beat the heat with a fun-filled Ice Cream Shoppe Day! Scooping and serving their own ice cream creations, students had a day of (sticky) hands-on learning and fun.

As students "purchased" their treats, they had the opportunity to practice exchanging money, building early financial literacy skills while enjoying a delicious reward!🍨💙

Families joined us for a special Parent Engagement Activity featuring a Gardening Day and Tea Party. Together, parents and children planted, explored, and shared meaningful moments while enjoying tea, treats, and great conversation!
