On Sunday December 21st, the brothers of Kappa Xi Lambda completed community service throughout the day. Brothers volunteered at God’s Love We Deliver by preparing meals for the less fortunate across the city. We also broke bread with brothers-at-large during our Stocking Exchange dinner, collecting donations and unwrapped toys for Covenant House NYC. We look forward to more opportunities for fellowship while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

On October 29th The Wall Street Alphas had representation from chapter brothers in a panel discussion on housing, economic and ballot initiatives for Pace University’s Social Justice Week. This critical conversation brought the community together for fruitful discussions.

On May 31st, the Wall Street Alphas in conjunction with the New York Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated worked to collect over 100 voter pledges and 6 new voter registrations in Chelsea. With the primary election approaching it is important to implement civic engagement among the community and empower each other with information to express themselves at the polls.

We express gratitude for inviting us to such a successful event as it was impactful and rewarding. As we continue to utilize our right to be heard we can continue to promote civic engagement.

✨ Honoree Spotlight: Brother Michael T. Smith ✨

Bro. Smith currently serves in the role of Executive Director, Employee Experience with Wells Fargo Consumer Marketing to which he brings over 25 years of experience in HR and Employee Engagement. In this role, he is responsible for driving strategic, operational and cultural improvements to enable and empower the Consumer Marketing team’s delivery of key priorities in a disciplined, well-controlled manner.

The past 25 years of his career have been devoted to developing and sharing his passion for helping others navigate and grow their careers in addition to helping them acclimate to the corporate setting. Before joining Wells Fargo, Bro. Smith held the position of Sr Director, HR Business Partner with TIAA, where he supported the Marketing and Communications organization. He also held senior HR roles at Nielsen Media, JPMorgan Chase, the Federal Reserve Bank of NY and Citigroup where he was responsible for developing and aligning human capital strategy with business objectives.

Bro. Smith joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.in the Fall of 89 (Ule Tofauti), along with his 7-line brothers at the University of Albany, where he was a charter member of the Rho Sigma Chapter, Key # 768. Rho Sigma is a special part of his fraternal journey, in helping to grow the chapter to over 80 strong brothers who have a deep sense of brotherhood and pride in the chapter and community.

Bro. Smith holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management/Labor Relations from New York Institute of Technology.

💡Honoree Spotlight: Brother Marc H. Morial

Bro. Marc Morial, one of the few national leaders to possess “street smarts,” and “boardroom savvy,” is the transformative President and CEO of the National Urban League, the nation’s largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization.

Bro. Morial served as the highly successful and popular Mayor of New Orleans as well as the President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. He previously was a Louisiana State Senator and was a lawyer in New Orleans with an active, high-profile practice. Moreover, he’s a leading voice on the national stage in the battle for jobs, education, housing, health, voting rights, equity, and entrepreneurship.

Bro. Morial is a published author; his leadership book, Gumbo Coalition: 10 Leadership Lessons That Help You Inspire, United, and Achieve has been widely acclaimed, and his column entitled To
Be Equal, reaches hundreds of thousands. He is the host of the weekly syndicated television show, America’s Black Forum.

A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics and African American Studies, he has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential Black Americans by Ebony Magazine, one of the top 50 Non-Profit
Leaders by the Non-Profit Times, one of the 100 Most Influential Black Lawyers in America and he has also been inducted into the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame in Atlanta,
