Each year, Sirens of Gotham has the opportunity to recognize one of our own who goes above and beyond in their service to the chapter. This year, we are elated to announce Amy Heaton as our Member of Note!
Lead on the risers. Lead on the board. The leading lady of our hearts. Amy Heaton is our 2026 Member of Note.
Amy joined Sirens in June 2019 sticking with us through the unique time that was ‘chorus during lockdown’ and into the new and ever-changing era after it. Having helped out with various chorus projects before, in 2024 she started her official service to the chorus as a member-at-large on our board and in 2025 she became our Chapter President; a role in which we are thankful she still serves.
Amy took on the role of President during a significant transition period for the chorus. She’s dealt with finances, rehearsal space changes, organizational affiliation options, artistic leadership transitions, and leading a wildly passionate group of her peers. She contributed calm compassion and disciplined structure to help guide us as we moved into our current normal. She has helped steer the administrative ship in so many ways! This past year when our smaller chorus served as the Region 15 Competition Assisting Chorus, Amy was our Boutique Chair . She brought in new vendors and coordinated a successful fundraiser for our chorus all while leading with so much positivity and joy
As a leader, Amy focuses on things that feasibly can be changed when confronting a challenge. She consistently demonstrates grace under pressure and always has a smile to share or a kind word to offer. She sparkles as a performer, and as a chorus leader she helps all of us shine.
Amy leads with a quiet poise. Her heart is huge, her mind is sharp, and her voice is divine. She is a living embodiment of our core values of joy, ambition, and authenticity and we are so grateful for all she has given and continues to give in service to our chorus community. She is brave and she is strong. She lifts others up with song. She is this year’s noteworthiest Siren of Gotham!
