Our Story

Stop the D.O.O.M. recognizes the many facets of life, which contribute to the downfall Within our communities.

Our Communities seems to have trouble with: self-control, discipline, education, understanding money, self-worth, economic resources, and a lack of entrepreneurial support. All of which contribute to the ongoing cycles of underemployment and unemployment and crime. Many of the Residents within our communities are not ignorant but have developed lazy tendencies, thus the desire to make easy money. Which has produced much heartache and pain, for them, their family and society alike?

There is a cliche that states: you can take a horse to the water, but you cannot make him drink. However, a member of my church Mr. Alex Hamilton said, "If you know you are taking the horse to the water, you should first create a thirst. By the time, you get to the water the horse will be ready to drink. After paying their debt to society in prison, many of our sons and neighbors are desperately looking for a better way of life. However, are unable to outlive their past.
