Moving Rasa

The Discovery Cards invite us to remember that we are not separate from the living world around us.

In this card, the orangutan, spirit hands, dancing child, and banyan roots each point to a different kind of relationship: with the body, with ancestry, with instinct, and with the land that holds us.

On June 27th in San Francisco, we’ll gather for a community event exploring animism, movement, and the cards as a practice for reconnecting with the seen and unseen forces that shape us.

Join us for food, conversation, and a guided group reading with the Discovery Cards.

🍳Join Moving Rasa at Understory for a conversation + movement-based gathering exploring animism, Southeast Asian cultural practices, and mind-body connection.👣

🌺We’ll talk about what animism is, why it matters across many Southeast Asian cultures, and how these ways of seeing the world can support healing, movement, mental health, and connection.

No previous experience needed. Come curious and hungry for new friends and new ways of grounding into the body ✨

Moving Rasa is hosting its second annual Moving Rasa retreat for Southeast Asian Diaspora Men in New Hampshire on June 5–7.

This is a space for embodiment, reflection, brotherhood, time in nature, shared meals, and a guided firearm safety session to explore what it means to relate to power and responsibility in a grounded way.

This is an intimate group, and we have a few spots left.

If this resonates, send me a message, and I’ll share more.

Our last Rasa Labs was pure magic ✨

We had the honor of welcoming Regie Cabico, who shared his deep love for poetry through playful, powerful activities that invited each of us into the art of expression. What unfolded in the room was connection, courage, laughter, and words we didn’t know were waiting inside us.

We closed the afternoon gathered around a beautiful potluck, sharing food and reflections on the impact of Moving Rasa in our lives and community. Hearing everyone’s experiences reminded us why we do this work — to create spaces where creativity, healing, and belonging can flourish.

It was a success and we look forward to future collaborations. Dm us if you would like to help sponsor or find aponsors to make the programming accessible for all, volunteer, or participate in future Rasa Labs offerings.

This season we’ve explored rasa across many mediums—movement, martial forms, tarot, ritual, and now poetry and shared food.

Each week, something different emerged, and, each time, our connection to Rasa deepened in distinct and powerful ways.

This Sunday, Regie Cabico is coming from DC to share his amazing creative writing process with us. Come experience how wordplay and moving rasa can weave together into personal beats.

And we’re bringing poetry and potluck together! This community gathering is free, a fundraiser for Moving Rasa-- donation based.

Last Sunday we explored Design Playgrounds for Future Ancestors with Kimberly Tate. We journeyed into our childhoods with an assortment of milk crates, batik clothes, and art supplies as we considered what types of playgrounds we might want to design.

Just three more Sundays left! Join us through the link in our bio!
