Brooke Jackman Foundation

Brooke Jackman Foundation We are a non-profit organization focused on improving literacy among at-risk children in the New York area. www.brookejackmanfoundation.org

The Brooke Jackman Foundation’s vision is that every single child is entitled to a life full of possibilities. The Foundation brings a sense of personal value, joy, and hope to its program participants. We know that children are our future, and unless they are taken care of in their early years, the possibility of their contribution to society is less viable. We hope to lessen the achievement gap,

helping each child to reach his or her potential. From the beginning, we made a commitment not only to honor Brooke’s memory, but to fulfill her dreams and carry on her legacy. Brooke had a deep love of reading and a profound interest in helping children. She would be proud to witness the powerful and positive changes that are taking place thanks to our literacy programs—proud of encouraging parents to help their children become strong readers and of parents and children reading aloud together each night, sharing the magical world of books. She would be happy to see how many children start school with the right educational tools received in their Brooke Packs and to see the libraries started in the hopes of fostering a love of reading by making books accessible to all. She would be proud, too, of the confidence and support of so many individuals, corporations, and other foundations. We continue to grow and thrive thanks to your dedication. As always, we are inspired by Brooke’s spirit and humbled by her example to give the forgotten child a chance in this world. With Love,
The Jackman Family

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001 including our Brooke, whose legacy of hope and literacy continues to inspire our mission. ❤️📚

We also hold in our hearts those affected by recent tragedies. Reminding us that the pain of loss, the need for compassion, and the power of coming together in kindness are as important now as ever.

Through books, through learning, and through caring we can help heal wounds no matter when they are made.

Today, we remember and celebrate the lives of those who were tragically lost in the 9/11 WTC attacks.

Brooke’s legacy lives on in the memories shared by our family, friends and supporters. Her love for reading and learning carries on through our mission to provide the opportunity for every child to explore new worlds through the pages of a book, just as Brooke did.

Let us keep in our hearts the heroes who risked everything to save others, the families who lost their loved ones, and the enduring spirit of hope that unites us 🇺🇸

Everyone who knew Brooke knew she was a caring, compassionate and loyal friend. She had a brilliant mind and glowing smile. She read constantly — when she got off the school bus, walking down streets and at night when she should have been sleeping.

The night before the September 11th attack, Brooke told her mom that there was more to life than making money and planned to go to Berkeley’s School of Social Work so that she could help disadvantaged children.

At the age of 23, Brooke had her bright future taken away in an instant. Now her family, friends and many supporters carry on her legacy, helping underserved children who never got the chance to meet Brooke herself.

Today we are honored to remember Brooke and the many others who lost their lives 20 years ago in the September 11th attack. We will never forget 🇺🇸
