Festival of New Trumpet Music The Festival of New Trumpet Music (FONT Music) was created to support new trumpet music

The Festival of New Trumpet Music – a grassroots nonprofit project run by and for a community of trumpeters – supports new trumpet music in all forms. FONT Music aims to provide a platform for emerging artists and creative pioneers, with the goal of celebrating the diversity and excellence of contemporary brass music. Presenting a week-long festival in September, as well as isolated events throughout the year, FONT Music includes disparate communities of musicians, students, and audiences. The festival is multi-genre, including jazz, new music, balkan, latin, electronic and experimental music, as well as educational events. Directed since 2003 by trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas, FONT Music is overseen by an all-volunteer board that includes some of the finest brass players on the scene.

BEYOND Music is a free, invitation-only global music community and collective, founded by the Swiss non-profit Beyond Foundation and Tina Turner, bringing together professional artists from different cultures to create original music and meaningful artistic connections.

Beyond Music Vol.5 with Ibrahim Maalouf

Our new album project is curated by internationally acclaimed trumpeter, composer and two-time Grammy nominee Ibrahim Maalouf, inviting professional musicians, singers, composers, producers and songwriters from around the world to collaborate across cultures and create original music together.

The project begins with one shared creative inspiration: the trumpet – a creative starting point that connects artists across cultures while leaving every artistic possibility open.

Every submitted collaboration must include the trumpet as an integral part of its artistic concept.

Submit your music to Beyond Music Vol.5 curated by Ibrahim Maalouf. Upload original, unreleased audio recordings featuring the trumpet. Open to professional world and experimental music artists collaborating until Nov 23, 2026.

Friend of FONT Music Andrew Kozar has a new recording out on Bandcamp. 🎺

https://andykozar.bandcamp.com/album/ein-horn

“Andy Kozar's Ein Horn features works for multiple trumpets that reference the instrument's historical roles while pointing the way to ambitious new directions. Featuring music by Mauricio Kagel, Harrison Birtwistle, Eve Beglarian, Elizabeth Hoffman, Lei Liang, and Eric Richards, Kozar's thoughtful curation and powerful performances make this far more than a survey of new trumpet music and continues to demonstrate why he is one of its most ardent and prolific advocates.”
