IMPORTANT RESCHEDULING NOTE

Parents, Guardians, and Coaches,

The weather is looking rough tomorrow, and though we could likely wait to make a last minute call we want you to be able to plan your weekend well, while also preparing for our makeup games.

We will postpone our championship games.

We know this will cause scheduling conflicts for some, but there was not much we could do at this point.
Here is how we will proceed.

Tball Finals | Monday June 25th @ 6PM
All Tball Teams will play a mini tournament
Capobianco Field (across from PSI217)
With Trophy presentation for winning team
**Please let you coaches know if you cannot be there

Minors Finals | Tuesday June 26th @ 6PM
Capobianco Field (Across from PSIS217)
**Please let you coaches know if you cannot be there
With Trophy presentation for winning team
(We also have awards for MVP and Team Leaders that will be awarded to two different people on each team. This means that even if your team is not in the finals you will want to be present for the post game celebration)

Majors Finals | Wednesday June 27th @ 6PM
Capobianco Field (Across from PSIS217)
**Please let you coaches know if you cannot be there

Parents and guardians, once again, please let your coaches know if your child cannot attend. It is hugely important that our coaches know going into the games that they will have enough kids to field a team.

So sorry for having to make the changes, but weather has not been kind to us this season.

30 coaches and 200 kids. Little league is underway on Roosevelt Island!

There are some tweaks to make for week 2 (especially in Tball), but great job to Arya and Roxanne Shirazi, Susana Del Campo Perea, Roberto Borja, Scot Bob, and the entire coaching crew. Thanks for all you do!

TBALL NEWS

Evaluations will be held this coming Tuesday, April 10th @ Pony Field (near the Octagon on the north end of the island).

This should be the only weekday event. All other games are scheduled for Saturday mornings.

Tball players will have one hour to practice throwing, hitting, and fielding. This will give us the ability to gauge children's experience and build teams as evenly as possible. Please have children bring a glove (that fits on their non-dominant/non-throwing hand)

Little League News....

Many have been asking about the 2018 season calendar. Though we cannot give specific times just yet, you will find a general overview of the season online

Tball will almost always play between 8:30-10AM
Minors 7-9 will most always play between 10AM-1Pm
Majors 10+ will most always between 1-4PM

Hope this helps with planning to some degree. As soon as more details are out I will ensure they are quickly public.

3 New initiatives rolling out this Spring

1) Happy Hours- parenting roundtables on technology, bullying, and navigating the New York School system (wine and Hors d'oeuvres)

2) Young adults dodgeball league

This spring, the Roosevelt Island Center of Community Development will host our third year of island wide little league. The league will include 3 different age groups; minors (5-6), majors (7-9yrs old) and seniors (10-13yrs old), with the intent of expanding to other age groups in the coming years....

Parents and Guardians,

Due to rain throughout the night we will be pushing back our final games tomorrow to ensure we finish the season well! All kids and parents (whether teams are in the finals or not they are encouraged to come cheer people on...especially your coaches during their coaches game)

We will likely have face painting and pizza (for sale)
