docutribe is a non-profit New York-based organization founded in 2006 and relaunched in 2016 by Cecily Tyler dedicated to activating social impact through the power of storytelling and filmmaking. Through teaching the tools and process of filmmaking and technology, we help filmmakers and their communities activate social change at the hyper local level and to tell their stories at the national or even international levels. We believe in the unique ability of storytelling, filmmaking and technology to confront and begin to solve every-day challenges and uplift communities. In service of this vision, we not only teach and consult on filmmaking practices, but also produce films, develop new media projects, and organize live events that celebrate the power of socially conscious storytelling and give back to the communities it seeks to uplift. docutribe currently has the following initiatives in production, https://www.docutribe.org/innovativestorytelling.
