KCDC Skateshop www.kcdcskateshop.com Williamsburg wasn’t always the super hip neighborhood it is today—it’s gone through some drastic changes in the last several years.

Skateboarding isn’t one of those changes. People have been building skatespots in abandoned buildings, under highway overpasses and in vacant lots for years. KCDC is a shop helping an old scene grow. KCDC opened somewhat off the beaten path of the neighborhood, in the fall of 2001. Art openings, video premieres, and other parties are held regularly in the space. These events help promote up and co

ming artists and companies in the skate industry. We're accessible to all kinds of skaters. It doesn’t matter if you are young, old, male, female, beginner, lifer, pool, street, vert, downhill, slalom, tech, or hesh. We carry all varieties of skate gear, including fashions from local designers. KCDC doesn’t exist to give off heavy vibes; we just want to keep skating positive and keep people skating.

After more than a decade behind fences and countless battles to reclaim it, one of skateboarding’s most iconic spots has officially reopened.

Massive respect to Steve Rodriguez—the true heart of NYC skateboarding—who never stopped pushing, organizing, and believing in the power of community to preserve this sacred ground.
