Our last group of Take.7 artists are Rachael Lieblein-Jurbala ( ), Erica MacLean ( ),and Joan Liu ( )!

Rachael Lieblein-Jurbala (she/her) is a New York City-based dancer and choreographer, who makes dances to explore human inclination and positionality. Her work investigates sociological questions and aims to provoke conversation, in hopes that she, the performer, and the viewer may all find deeper self-awareness and subsequent potential for radical empathy. 

Erica MacLean is a photographer, choreographer, director, and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. She has studied ballet and contemporary dance at Glendale Community College, Arizona State University, and The University of Utah. MacLean has presented work at Live Artists Platform, Arizona State University, Arizona Dance Festival, Center Dance Ensemble’s “American Voices”, The American College Dance Association, Beta Dance Festival, The University of Utah, Artists of Promise, Wax Works, and her self-produced concert, “Past Playgrounds”. MacLean is a recipient of an “Artists of Promise” choreographic award(Phoenix, Arizona) in which she placed first in district wide competition.

Joan Liu was trained in multiple genres before starting her performing career with Taipei Royal Ballet. She received her MS in Biology from NYU and MA in Dance Education through the collaborated program between NYU and ABT. Since moving to NYC, she’s performed with Gwen Rakotovao Company, Aries in Flight, American Liberty Ballet among others. Her choreography, including a full-length ballet, has been showcased at New York City Center, Dixon Place, Abrons Arts Center, Mark O’Donnell Theater…etc. Currently, she’s a faculty member at Ballet Arts at City Center and the Artistic Director of Axons Dance Theatre.

Our next Take.7 artist is Angie Sherman () !

Augie Sherman is a New York-based dancer and choreographer. She received her BA in dance from Connecticut College. Her choreography has been shown at The Craft, Movement Research, Alpha Omega Dance, Fireplace 409, Liberty Hall Dance Festival, and Salem Arts Festival. Augie's percussive and polyrhythmic impulses drive an intricate movement vocabulary.

Next up for Take. 7 we have Phoebe DeVincenzi (.d) and Julia Larcenaire.

Phoebe DeVincenzi (she/her) is a Brooklyn based dance artist and educator; lifelong mover, experimenter and deep thinker. She dances throughout the day as inspiration strikes or anxiety settles in, and uses movement to process strange murky parts of being human. Phoebe is super excited to be in a space of sharing and connection through the current showcase.

Julia Larcenaire (she/her) is a dancer, educator, and general art-maker. She spends her days crafting ceramics, cooking, and rough-housing with her dog. Julia has had her own work shown at Triskelion, Hatch, Fertile Groung, and most recently she has danced for Jill Moshman and as a part of Bill T. Jones’ Deep Blue Sea.

Our next Take.7 artist is Stephen Hill ( )!

Stephen Hill is a choreographer from Harlem. Hill has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance at Lehman College and has previously danced for ModArts Dance Collective under the direction of Leah Tubbs and for Forces Of Nature Dance Theater under Abdel Salaam. He is the founding artistic director of the ChoreoJoey Project, an arts collective committed to the preservation and use of jazz and West African dance in harmony with narration, poetry, and storytelling.

Our next Take.7 artists are Johnathan Colafrancesco ( ) and Robert Rubama ( )!

Jonathan Colafrancesco (He/Him) is an Italian dance artist currently based in New York. He has
danced in productions of Italian and international choreographers like Enzo Celli, Elisabetta Minutoli,
Dario Lupinacci, Roberta Ferrara, Francesco Asselta, Samuel Pott, Vivake Khamsingsavath.
Jonathan is currently a dancer for Pony Box Dance Theatre, Xiang Xu dance, LaneCo arts, Tabula
Rasa Dance Theatre, Project Tag, Spark Movement Collective, EM dance, and Terre Dance
Collective. He graduated from the Certificate Program at Peridance in NYC. He moved to
Melbourne, Australia in 2017 to study with contemporary choreographers from companies such as
Chunky Move and Lucy Guerin inc. He has also danced in works by Roya Carrera, Caleb Teicher,
Assaf Salhov, Igal Perry, Isabele Rosso and Tsai-Hsi Hung. He is a co-founder or Kroma mvnt in
NYC.

Robert Rubama (He/They) graduated from George Mason University with a BFA in Dance.
Robert has performed with Agora Dance, Haus of Bambi, Groundworks Dance Theater,
PrioreDance, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, and Alejandro Cerrudo. They are currently a member of
Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, LaneCoArts, and Orange Grove Dance. Robert is
also the founder of Terre Dance Collective.

Next up for Take.7 we have Dahye Lee (.hy3 ) !

A native of South Korea, Dahye is a dancer and a choreographer of Korean contemporary dance. She is also a scholar pursuing her Ph.D. in theatre and performance studies. Considering the dancing body as a palimpsest, she views choreography as a way of processing one’s experience. As a non-native English speaker who constantly translates and is translated, she is interested in exploring the different meanings and senses that language and movement embody.

Our next Take.7 artists are Jenny Boissiere ( ) and Molly Gorin ( )!

Jenny Boissiere is a choreographer and dance artist based in Washington Heights. Originally from New Orleans, her movement style reflects her background in modern dance, jazz, Black southern line dances and rhythms, and contact improvisation. Her choreography explores themes of power, interdependence, kinetic joy, and empathy. In 2016, she created DanceBoissiere, a diverse collective that amplifies the voices of dance artists who have lived female experiences and/or actively center femme stories. 

Molly makes interdisciplinary performance pieces that strive to unite audiences in catharsis and comedy. She has performed with a variety of contemporary choreographers in NYC, including dancing with DanceBoisierre since 2018. Molly's own choreographic work has been shown at Bates Dance Festival, Center for Performance Research, Triskelion Arts, The Tank, Three's Brewing, Spoke the Hub, Alchemical Studios, General Irving, Prospect Park, Old First Reformed Church, and Noosphere Arts.
