A few days late, but happy to share a few snaps from First Rehearsal of The Taming of the Shrew, which is our 23rd free Shakespeare production in our 28 year history. returns to the park for his fifth show in the director’s chair, leading a tremendous cast of returning favorites and new friends.

`Free Outdoor Shakespeare returns to Central Park this summer with The Taming of the Shrew (June & July 2026) directed by Philip Emeott— theatre without tickets, walls, or barriers.

The First Flight New Play Festival (December 10–13, 2026) continues our commitment to developing bold new work and supporting emerging voices.

Exciting news: we’re honored to announce that we’ve received a grant from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs FY2026 Cultural Development Fund (CDF)!! Art and culture are the heart and soul of New York, and we’re proud to be among the nearly 1,200 groups receiving city support this year thanks to the partnership between the NYC Mayor’s Office and the City Council.

This investment in our work will help us bring accessible, affordable cultural programs to our community. Our CDF grant will support The Taming of The Shrew, our 23rd free outdoor Shakespeare production, opening in June 2026
