To my friends abroad,
I want to share with you an awful thing that happened today and a hard insight to digest:
=שתפו את חבריכם בחו"ל=
Today four of my countrymen were murdered in Jerusalem. Elderly men who were praying in their neighborhood synagogue at the time, provoking no one. Two Arab offenders from the adjacent village entered the synagogue with axes and knives and butchered them in cold blood before being shot by security. Just imagine such a thing happening in your local church or temple.
Many things were said and will be said on the endless circle of violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I wish not to bring you the words of politicians or talk about who is right or wrong. I also will not say a word about the victims and the lives lost. Instead I want to tell you about the families of the murderers. How would you imagine the reaction of a family that just got the word that of their own, a father of three, just slaughtered four innocent people during their prayer and than was shot dead? They are celebrating and handing candies as we speak, calling them heroes and martyrs. Can you even wrap your mind around it?
There is a saying by terror supporters in this part of the world: "We love death as much as you love life". Another saying is attributed to former prime minister of Israel, Mrs. Golda Meir: "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us".
When you try to understand the nature of this endless conflict, please do not assume your own mentality and mindset, as this is not what we are dealing with. Instead, consider these two quotes.
If you feel this is worth passing on, please share.
