The arrival of June marks Le***an, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. Celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, and, in the case of Audubon, bird outings. The outdoors have not always been a welcoming place for LGBTQ people and Audubon wants to help change that.

Let's Go Birding Together events are for everyone who loves birds and the outdoors. We welcome those who identify as LGBTQ, allies, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an outdoor experience that is inclusive. Learn more at the link in comments.

SPEAK UP FOR THE BOREAL: 12 million acres of Canadian forests, wetlands, lakes, streams, and rivers make up the Seal River Watershed—making it a crucial migratory stop-over and nesting habitat for hundreds of birds.

An Indigenous collaboration of four First Nations (the Seal River Watershed Alliance), the Manitoba Government, and the Government of Canada have proposed to conserve this watershed as an Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area that will include a new national park and a new provincial park. This layered approach offers a variety of tools and resources to conserve the land, sustain Dene and Cree traditions, generate economic opportunity, and promote recreational access for all.

Public comments are now being accepted on the shared proposal, so you have a chance to speak out. Use your voice at the link in comments.

Along Florida’s Gulf Coast, people and wildlife compete for the same narrow ribbon of sand, but this close company can also beget conservation successes. On one such crowded beach, four determined middle school Girl Scouts started a new conservation chapter for the region’s vulnerable sea and shorebirds.
