Oh, snow.

Given the seriousness of the historic blizzard forecast for New York City, we’ve made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s 12 Hours with Tracy Letts.

The safety of our actors, crew, audience, and everyone involved is our top priority. While we’re deeply disappointed to delay this one-day event, we’ll be back soon. A new date will be announced shortly.

We spent all day in rehearsal yesterday, and the work is extraordinary. We truly cannot wait to share these readings with you.

Thank you to everyone who has been so excited and supportive, and to the incredible artists and collaborators who made this process so special.

If you purchased tickets, Circle in the Square will be in touch with next steps.

Our sincere apologies for the change. We’re looking forward to being together on the new date.

Welcome Andrew Rothenberg to Twelve Hours with Tracy Letts!

Andrew and Tracy Letts first worked together in Chicago in the ’90s, performing improv before Tracy’s plays made their way to stages around the world.

Most recently, Andrew appeared in Music City with Bedlam Theatre Company (which just announced it’s off-broadway transfer this coming Spring), as well as Bedlam’s The Assassination of Julius Caesar as Told by William Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw. Other theatre credits include work at Steppenwolf, Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, and Signature Theatre.

On screen, you’ve seen him in Fargo, The Walking Dead, True Blood, American Horror Story: Asylum, The Night Agent, and more.

We’ve renamed the 12-Hour Festival in honor of Alan Langdon for a simple reason: no one meant more to Animus, its members, its Artistic Director, or its mission, and no one’s legacy drives us forward with any greater passion, ambition, or resolve.

It was an essential part of Alan’s guidance that we all, as actors, as audience, have a conversation with the playwright, and perhaps no other theatrical experience exists in New York right now where greater access for such a conversation is possible, over so much of one writer’s library.

We carry Alan in our hearts, minds, souls, and art every day, and this is our opportunity to share his passion with you. We miss him dearly, but he lives on in all of us, and this day is for him.

We’re excited to welcome Circle in the Square Theatre School alum Thomas Sadoski to Twelve Hours with Tracy Letts.

A 25-year theatre veteran, Thomas has appeared on Broadway in Other Desert Cities, Reasons to Be Pretty, The House of Blue Leaves, and Reckless, with recent work including Wedding Band at TFANA and Suzan-Lori Parks’ White Noise at The Public.

On screen, he’s known for The Newsroom, Life in Pieces, Wild, and Devotion. Beyond his work as an actor, he’s a longtime human rights advocate - a founding ambassador of War Child USA and a supporter of multiple organizations focused on refugees and children affected by war.

We’re proud to have him back on the stage at Circle in the Square Theatre School.

We choose Tracy Letts because his work sits at the core of American realism. The stories feel familiar at first - family, work, community, shared everyday spaces - until the pressure builds… a tension that comes from what’s unsaid, what’s avoided, and what eventually can no longer be ignored.

That’s what we wanted our poster to reflect. Something worn, grounded, and foreboding. Not polished. Not decorative. A moment that feels still, but charged.

On February 23, we’ll spend twelve hours with Letts’ work: Killer Joe, Linda Vista, Man from Nebraska, The Minutes, and August: Osage County presented as staged readings on the deck at Circle in the Square Theatre.

This festival is about putting the focus where it belongs, in honor of Alan Langdon: a simple conversation between the playwright and audience, conducted by the actors and directors.

Tickets are available now at the link in our bio.

A huge thank you to , who listened to our vision for a graphic design and turned it into something even better than we could have imagined.
