The recently concluded Rangzen Walk by Tibetan National Congress, along with the Tibetan Youth Congress's protest against the visit of Chinese Dictator Xi Jinping to the United States, USTC donated $1,000 the Manisota people to the Washington total amount contributed by US Tibet Committee for the campaign is $9,200 .

REJECT CHINA'S NEW ETHNIC UNITY LAW

The Chinese Government recently passed a new ethnic unity law mandating Mandarin language in all education, government, and official venues and institutions including schools. The law carries criminal penalties for those who do not use Mandarin language even in areas where Tibetans and Uyghurs are the majority as in Tibet and East Turkestan (Xinjiang). Tibetan, Uyghur and Mongolian languages are de-emphasized while Mandarin is required as median of instruction in all schools as well as in government and commerce. The new law even includes criminal penalties for those who advocate for Tibetan and Uyghur rights and freedoms even if you live outside China. Transnational oppression is illegal under international law. Forcing people to give up their traditional language and culture is also illegal and violates fundamental human rights. It amounts to cultural genocide. UN human rights experts have condemned China's new ethnic unity law and called for its repeal.

In New York City, Tibetans and Tibet supporters will rally to protest China's ethnic unity law on July 1, 2026 at the Chinese Consulate on 42nd Street and West Side Hiway from 2pm to 5pm. Please come out July 1st afternoon to show your support for Tibet.
