Yesterday our Kindergarten class went to to research chickens. They observed chicks, hens, and roosters of all sizes in their community garden environment. By the end of the visit, almost every student caught a chicken with their own hands! Thanks to the Peoples Garden BK for welcoming our Kindergartners! 🐓

Steve Trimboli passed away last December - as the owner/creator of Goodbye Blue Monday, Steve established a one-of-a-kind place in Bushwick for gathering and expression that lives on in the lives and work of many who walked through it's doors (Goodbye Blue Monday was located where the - now closed? - Looking Glass is on Broadway) Steve was a friend and supporter of , once carting a dolly full of beverages from GBBM down Broadway to support a garden fundraiser. A life-long New Yorker until he moved to Detroit 10ish years ago, he was also a gifted writer and keeper of many stories. If you want to hear some of them and get acquainted with a unique time in Brooklyn/NYC human/cultural history, come through the garden today from 4pm onward. There will be music, reading, food, and much celebrating.

There’s nothing like fall in New York City 🤨... If you agree with as well as with 64,552 people who just liked this cartoon, please meet us tomorrow at 3 pm in front of People’s Garden 🪴 . Together we’ll remove some garbage off our streets before the leaves cover it! 🍁 We’ll start with a warm-up maintenance around the garden 🧹 , (and that gives you time to find us in case you’re late a few minutes), then we’ll head to a nearby spot.
