We live in paradise…. Slept under the redwoods last night, went to the ocean before sunrise to meditate. Opened my eyes to shafts of light coming down over Big Sur. Then later the rainbows came out to play. ❤️🌎♾🌲🌈

"I believe all organizing is science fiction. Trying to create a world that we’ve never experienced and never seen is a science-fictional activity. And, to get to a world where there is no r**e, no homelessness, no inequality, is going to require a good amount of future casting and future thinking, aligning ourselves into the future, exploring and playing with how we’re going to get there."

- Adrienne Maree Brown

This we encourage you to be unapologetically bold, ambitious and creative in your planning and organizing!

Please join us in welcoming our new Director of Youth Programming Kristina Erskine! Kristina is passionate about sharing the powerful lessons food teaches us about land, culture and history through art, stories and hands on learning. For over seven years, she has been uplifting youth around food justice ranging from farming and grassroots organizing to policy advocacy work. In all of her work, she focuses on highlighting the importance of young people challenging and redefining systems, and being agents of systemic change. She feels that believing in sustainable change means demonstrating belief in sustainable spaces and opportunities. Kristina strives to honor this belief in all her youth leadership work and has developed and facilitated many different youth focused events and workshops for organizations such as GrowNYC, The Levitt Foundation, Make the Road NY, Just Food and many more. Her perspective is rooted in the fact that she is a product of youth organizing and so she truly believes in the transformative energy of integrating the values and opportunities that learning about food offers within our schools, particularly in cafeterias and urban farms/gardens. She is currently pursuing a bachelors in Communication Design at New York City College of Technology. We are so excited about our new chapter with her!
