Last Saturday, September 21st was World Gratitude Day. The New York Foundation for Senior Citizens is grateful to be able to ease financial burdens and provide companionship for both the young and old through its Home Sharing Program.

Today, NYFSC manages 10 subsidized buildings that include over 900 units of housing, seven of which offer Enriched Housing Programs, which provide services that prevent their frail elderly residents from premature institutionalization.

High-functioning individuals living with developmental disabilities are eligible to receive housing in the Home Sharing Program. Participants hosting these individuals often credit this as an extremely rewarding experience.
