We are beyond thankful to all of our supporters who helped make 2025 our most impactful year yet: 14 fully staged play readings engaging 100 artists for an audience Center for International Theatre Development (CITD)n 1,000 New Yorkers. All free and open to the public. We are profoundly grateful to the Center for International Theatre Development (CITD) for facilitating an artistic exchange between VTC and Театр на Жуках - Theatre na Zhukah. With your support we will continue our mission of presenting new international plays, including amplifying voices from Ukraine, as well as the SAY GAY PLAYS initiative.
Also coming in 2026… a fully staged world premiere play! We will be announcing the details soon, but what we can tell you for now is… it’s a love story. 😉

Celebrating our culminating event with CITD's LINKAGES: UKRAINE exchange. We were thrilled to present a fully-staged reading of 5000 STEPS TO PEACE AND JUSTICE by Anna Khyvyl and Piotr Armianovski at the Ukrainian Institute of America. Congratulations to Dr. Marianna Staroselksy for an exquisite performance. The reading also included and video design by Susan Shaw, sound design by Luke Hofmaier, and stage management by Keri Landeiro. Wayne Maugans directed.
Special thanks to the Ukrainian Institute in Kyiv, and to Lydia Zaininger and the Ukrainian Institute of America. The paintings on the walls are by Yohanan Petrovsky-Shtern. The exhibit Confronting Catastrophes is on view at UIA through November 16. Huge shout-out to World Wide Ukrainian Play Readings!
