Last month, CPC Brooklyn Community Center hosted a Health and Family Resource Fair at Leif Ericson Park, welcoming hundreds of community members for a day of family fun, community connection, and sharing valuable resources.

Open to the public, the fair offered free health screenings and community resources, along with cultural performances, children’s books, table games, face painting, produce distribution, and raffles.

The event was designed to bring the community together while also welcoming new community members who may not have been familiar with CPC or the programs and support available to them related to housing, immigration legal services, health care, education, and more.

On October 3, CPC Manhattan Community Center hosted its annual Family Day Fair, bringing together hundreds of families at CPC One for a day of interactive games, activities, and community connection.

The Family Day Fair encourages families to spend meaningful time together, build supportive relationships, and strengthen connections within the community.

Community members also had the opportunity to learn more about the services and programs available through CPC and our partner organizations.

Today, we’re celebrating the educators who help students discover new interests, build confidence, and make learning meaningful.

With the school year back in session, we’re taking a look at what students at Kingsborough Early College have been up to through CPC’s COMPASS-SONYC after-school program. From hands-on STEM and literacy activities to arts, sports, and project-based learning, students have opportunities to learn, create, and explore.

Thank you to the teachers and educators who make programs like these possible and create opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.

Throughout the final week of September, CPC sites came together to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a harvest festival celebrated across East and Southeast Asian communities that honors family, gratitude, and togetherness under the full moon.

Staff and community members marked the occasion with mooncake and tea tastings, produce giveaways, and paper lantern-making. These traditions help foster a sense of belonging, connect generations, and create opportunities to share and appreciate different cultures.
