🎓💙🧡 Celebrating a Legacy of Excellence at Virginia State University 🧡💙🎓
The Greater New York Alumni Association proudly joins the Virginia State University community in celebrating Dr. Emmanuel Omojokun on receiving an Honorary Doctorate at VSU’s Spring 2026 Commencement and recognizing his remarkable 37 years of transformative service to our beloved university.
Dr. Omojokun’s impact on Virginia State University is immeasurable. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including Dean of the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business, while championing innovation, academic excellence, and student success.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Omojokun:
🔹 Founded VSU’s Computer Science Program in 1994
🔸Established the VSU Center for Entrepreneurship in 2015
🔹 Helped launch the University’s MBA Program
🔸Played a pivotal role in bringing internet connectivity to campus and developing VSU’s first website and local computer network
🔹Helped expand opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders throughout the Richmond region
🔸Created a student endowment fund that continues to support future generations of Trojans
His visionary leadership, dedication to education, and unwavering commitment to Virginia State University have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire students, faculty, staff, and alumni for years to come.
As Dr. Omojokun prepares for retirement on July 1st we extend our deepest gratitude for his service and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
