The great Jamie “ Rocky” Johnson, World Champion boxer and International Boxing Hall of Fame-for her pioneering work in Women’s Boxing in the United Kingdom.
She carried the torch in the London 2012 Olympics. We are honored to have her spearhead our Home of champions Roundatale of Ambassadors supporting our foster youth.

The Story Behind the Gloves 🥊💨

on January 2025, Sister Claire of the Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur in Buffalo discovered a pair of boxing gloves gifted by Floyd Patterson to Sister Sheila, a fellow Sister who passed away in 1975. These gloves, which Patterson used to train for his final match against Muhammad Ali in 1972, were donated to the Home of Champions, a leadership retreat for New York State foster youth in New Paltz, New York, formerly Patterson’s estate. The Home of Champions, founded by Judith Halbreich, empowers young adults aging out of foster care, and the gloves symbolize Patterson’s lasting impact on HOC’s mission.

Designer Cameron Sinclair spoke with college students about the deeper meaning of resilience after they planted hardy, resilient bushes at the “Home of Champions”—a symbolic act that blended design, community, and hope. For Sinclair, resilience isn’t just about strong plants or strong buildings; it’s about people coming together to rebuild, adapt, and thrive in the face of challenges. The students’ gesture was more than landscaping—it was a statement of strength, growth, and the enduring power of community.
