Our St. Demetrios Golf Outing this past week was truly a huge success, and our hearts are filled with gratitude. ⛳️💙

A very special and heartfelt thank you to our amazing sponsors and to everyone who came out to support our school and our community. Your generosity, time, and commitment mean more than words can express.

Most importantly, it was a beautiful day spent together surrounded by good friends, new and old, laughter, friendship, and so much love for St. Demetrios. Days like this remind us of what makes our community so special: the people who continue to come together, give back, and help make a difference for our children and our school.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this day so memorable. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and for being part of the St. Demetrios family.

Here’s to friendship, community, and many more wonderful days together! 💙⛳️

September 27th, 2026 • A beautiful afternoon of giving, community, and generosity! 💙

Our Closet Clean-Out for a Good Cause Clothing Drive was a wonderful success, and we are so grateful to everyone who took the time to go through their closets and donate clothing, shoes, accessories, costumes, toys, stuffed animals, and linens.

Every donation helps support the philanthropic needs of our Philoptochos Society, allowing us to continue caring for and giving back to those in need❤️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, organized, and helped make this effort possible. Your generosity reminds us of the beautiful impact we can make when we come together as a community.

The more we collect, the more we can give.
Thank you for helping us give, support, and uplift our community. 🙏🏼

Kyklos Bible Study is back!

Yesterday, we gathered for our first Kyklos Bible Study since the summer break with Fr. Anargyros. It was a wonderful afternoon coming together in faith, having meaningful conversation, and fellowship as we continue to deepen our understanding of Scripture and our Orthodox Christian faith.

Kyklos gives us the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and grow together in faith while enjoying the fellowship of our parish community.

Join us every Thursday at 1:00 PM at St. Demetrios Cathedral of Astoria for Bible study (in Greek), fellowship, and time together as a community. Lunch is provided.

We look forward to seeing you next Thursday! 🙏🏼

Festival Update: Due to expected severe weather and the possibility of severe weather events in the New York City area, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone this weekend’s community festival, with the primary concern being the safety and protection of our parishioners and community members, as well as our volunteers, vendors, artists, and all of our visitors.

We are pleased to announce that our festival is being moved to October 16–18th, 2026! 🇬🇷

We sincerely thank you for your understanding, patience and support. We know how much time, effort and enthusiasm has gone into preparing for this year’s festival and we are grateful to everyone who continues to support our Community through this change.

The sale of raffle tickets will continue and the draw will take place on Sunday, October 18th, during the festival.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to coming together as a community on October 16–18th and celebrating our festival together! 🇬🇷
