At our Ocean Bay Cornerstone Community Center, that someone was Dr. Deborah Hoyle, and five years after her passing, the kids of Horticulture Sundays are still growing what she started. Swipe through her story.

Thank you to the Metropolitan Park Community Impact Fund for supporting our ParentChild+ program.

ParentChild+ is a free program that pairs families with a trained specialist who visits at home, using books, toys, and everyday play to help toddlers build the skills that get them ready for school. This grant helps us bring it to more families across Queens.

The 2026 Holiday Drive has officially begun, and today is DAF Day!

If your company, organization, or family gives through a donor-advised fund, today is a great day to donate to The Child Center of NY's Holiday Drive. The money is already set aside for charity, and a donation now helps us plan ahead to bring holiday toys to children across New York City. For many of the families we serve, rising costs make it harder to cover everyday needs, let alone make the season special.

October is Head Start Awareness Month, and last week we showed up for it.

Our Early Childhood Education leaders, Tanya Krien and Joanny Ruiz, attended the National Head Start Leadership Conference to advocate for Head Start and the children and families it serves. Staying informed, raising our voice, and standing up for high-quality early learning is part of how we protect the programs our communities depend on.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Through our ACS Clinical Support Program, our clinicians work alongside child protective staff to help families facing the hardest situations, including intimate partner and family violence. It's part of how we show up for families when they need it most.
