It is with great sadness, but hope in the resurrection of the Lord that we announce the passing of Georgia Papadopoulos - past President and decades long member of the Paneliakos Society of New York.

Georgia Papadopoulos, wife of the late Ioannis Papadopoulos of blessed memory who was predeceased in 2023 and devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Stavroula, and her son, Anthony, and his wife, Kristina. She was a cherished grandmother to Yianni, Thea, Kristina, and Georgia, each of whom brought endless joy and pride to her life. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest blessing, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

A woman of extraordinary kindness and generosity, Georgia lived a life centered on helping others. Selfless in every sense of the word, she was always the first to offer a helping hand, a comforting word, or an act of kindness to those in need. Her compassion touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her community.

Georgia was deeply devoted to charitable work, especially through Hope for Life, a cause that was very close to her heart. She also proudly served as Past President of the Paneliakos Society of New York, dedicating her time and energy to preserving her heritage and strengthening the bonds within her community.

Above all, Georgia was a faithful and devoted Orthodox Christian. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and shaping the compassionate person she was. She loved her church deeply and found great comfort and strength in her relationship with God. Her unwavering faith, humble spirit, and gratitude for life's blessings served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Georgia's warm smile, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and community will be dearly missed. Though her physical presence is gone, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the example she set will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM- 10:30 AM at St. Irene Chrysovalantou Greek Orthodox Church, 36-07 23rd Avenue, Astoria, NY 11105.
