7/27/26 WOW Report | Winners of the Week ✨

Another inspiring evening at New York Toastmasters, filled with personal stories, thoughtful reflections, and meaningful lessons.

For Table Topics, Erica invited us to reflect on summer - bringing out spontaneous personal stories and memories☀️

Our prepared speakers explored how we experience and respond to the world around us. Elizabeth shared the power of attitude and gratitude, reminding us that while we can’t always control what happens, we can choose the attitude we bring to it. McKenzie shared her personal story as a great listener, reminding us how important truly listening can be while aspiring to become a strong speaker. Ali took us through the many conveniences and perks of living in New York and what makes the city such a unique place to call home🗽 And through the story of a delayed train, Wasiu reminded us that life, much like a train journey, can bring unexpected surprises - what matters is how we choose to react🚆

Our evaluators also shared thoughtful feedback, with some great reminders for all speakers: embrace the pause, use vocal variety, and wrap up with a clear summary. 🎤

We were also delighted to welcome Hill Krishnan as our special guest speaker. Wishing Hill the very best in his upcoming competition - we’ll be cheering you on! 🏆👏

7/20/26 WOW Report | Winners of the Week ✨⚽️

Another inspiring evening at New York Toastmasters filled with meaningful stories, personal reflections, and creative conversations led by our immediate past president Linda

Keeping the World Cup spirit alive, our Table Topics session - Penalty kick shootout - brought fun and energy to the meeting

Khanh took us on a journey through the culture and love behind Bún Bò Huế, showing how food can connect us to our roots. Melissa reminded us not to be afraid to take action, sharing the powerful message that “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the second-best time is now.” Yuzhe shared his violin journey and treated us to a live demonstration, while Maria shared valuable insights on conflict management, reminding us that it’s not about winning the battle, it’s about winning the relationship.

A big kudos to all our meeting role volunteers! 👏 They did a fantastic job supporting the flow of the meeting, especially with our virtual setup. Special shoutout to those who took on roles for the first time - thank you for stepping up and helping make the meeting a success! Our evaluators also provided thoughtful and encouraging feedback, helping each speaker reflect, improve, and continue growing.

7/13/26 WOW Report | Winners of the Week ✨

What a fantastic start to the new Toastmasters year with our new club board! We also enjoyed an inspiring officer introduction session led by District 46 Director Sondra Cofield. Congratulations to our incoming officers, and a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing officers for your dedication, leadership, and service over the past year.

Tyler kept everyone on their toes with a fun Table Topics session full of “What if…?” scenarios and creative prompt cards. We also heard five engaging speeches that explored communication styles, navigating difficult conversations, embracing the journey instead of rushing to the finish line, and even making financial reports entertaining - with a paparazzi twist! The evening was rounded out with thoughtful evaluations that helped every speaker continue to grow.

6/22/26 WOW Report | Winners of the Week 🎉

What a meeting! 🙌

🏀 Sports was the perfect Table Topics theme @ Hilary Xu - timely, creative, and full of laughs. From robots on the court to aliens trying to stop us and athletes at dinner, the responses kept everyone thinking on their feet.

🎤 Incredible speeches covered everything from a memorable spotted owl encounter, the art of the handshake, navigating difficult people, and leadership, decision-making, and finding inspiration.

🔎 As always, our evaluators delivered thoughtful insights and supportive feedback that help every speaker grow. That’s what makes this club so special.

6/1/26 WOW Report/Winners of the Week:

Wow, indeed! What a robust, rewarding meeting. We had 9 moving & motivating NYTM alumni All-Star testimonials plus Table Topics challenges & inspiring breakout chats, and THEN had 5 clever, compelling speeches and 5 enlightening & clarifying evaluations. There were some wonky (snap*) aspects but a lot to love and many takeaways about public speaking & leadership.
Thanks to all first-timers and all whom committed to your craft & skills.

We had an energizing, motivating leadership workshop by Immediate Past President Alvin Jones and an insightful workshop eval from Eric Peters (which he presented seconds after the workshop ended).

We heard from all current (hard-working) board members and were lucky to have all 7 current Presidents present!

We were led by Past President ⁩ and enjoyed a fun, challenging object-focused Table Topics led by Past President
