The series of Islamophobic attacks on 3 Muslim women in New York City last week is appalling. The targeting of any person for their religious attire or how they worship is against the values of our city and our country.
We are grateful to NYPD for arresting the alleged attacker and charging her appropriately.

An arrest has been made after a series of anti-Muslim hate crime assaults in Bay Ridge, prompting responses from city and state officials.

We were honored to welcome a delegation from the Bundeswehr, Germany’s armed forces, including participants from the National General/Admiral Staff Officer Course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College. Together, we explored key global challenges and the importance of strengthening the transatlantic relationship. AJC Chief Advocacy Officer Belle Yoeli addressed the group, highlighting the vital need to deepen ties between Europe and the United States. Through our global network, AJC remains committed to reinforcing these bonds, knowing they are essential for a stable and secure world.

AJC New York had the privilege of hosting Rebecca Ulam Weiner, Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence & Counterterrorism at the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

During her visit, she shared valuable insights on the current security landscape, the challenges of combating terrorism and antisemitism, and the NYPD’s ongoing efforts to keep New York safe.

We are grateful for her leadership and dedication to protecting all communities across the city. Thank you, Deputy Commissioner Weiner, for an engaging and informative discussion!

AJC New York had the honor of meeting with Consul General Maia Bartaia to discuss Georgia’s unwavering support for Israel, its commitment to combating antisemitism, and its strong diplomatic ties with the Jewish community. The Consul General reaffirmed Georgia’s solidarity with Israel and highlighted the country’s engagement in Holocaust remembrance efforts.

We discussed Argentina’s steadfast support for Israel, including its deeply profound two days of national mourning following the tragic news of the murder of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and close partnership with the Consulado de la República Argentina en New York.

Empowering the Next Generation of Jewish Advocates in Staten Island

Thank you to the Staten Island JCC for hosting us! In partnership with the JCC, AJC New York held an LFT Accelerator program for local high school students, led by Ira Glasser, AJC’s Director of K-12 Education - NY.

Through interactive workshops, real-world case studies, and dynamic discussions, students explored Jewish identity, Israel advocacy, and strategies to combat antisemitism. They gained practical tools to navigate difficult conversations and stand up for their values with confidence.

We’re proud to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills to be informed and proactive advocates for the Jewish community.
