Mama Theonestina Rweyemamu's children (in the first row) were joined by Tanzanians at a wake service. Mama Theonestina died on Saturday, 1st February 2014. This picture shows a section of Tanzanians who attended the wake service at Camelot Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, New York. On 19th January 2014, the New York Tanzanian Community celebrated 50 years of Zanzibar Revolution in an event joined by H.E. Ambassador Tuvako Manongi as the guest of honor. Speaking during the event, H.E. Ambassador Manongi emphasized on unity amongst Tanzanians. The event was colored by a fashion show, comedy, traditional and modern dances,foods and drinks. Once again, Zanzibaris and all Tanzanians were united. God bless Zanzibar. God bless Tanzania and God bless Africa.

More of fashion show pictures during the event to commemorate 50 years of Zanzibar Revolution. In short, it was Fashion Show in a Zanzibarian Style: Who can beat this? You got it, nobody. This is how 50 years of Zanzibar revolution were celebrated with Zanzibar traditional dresses on display. Thanks to Da Asya and Jessica for designing some of these dresses and thanks to everybody else (everyone who participated in the fashion show) for making this fashion show a success! The Dance from Zanzibar:
Tanzanians could not stop themselves from dancing. This was the day when the New York Tanzanian Community celebrated 50 years of Zanzibar revolutions. This was the “Msewe” dance, one of the traditional dances from Zanzibar. How nice it was to keep the tradition! Hooray Zanzibaris! Hooray Tanzanians!
