🧡 This Thanksgiving, we are bursting with gratitude for our community of students, volunteers, and supporters.

Over 34 years, 1,400 students have come through Minds Matter NYC. That's 1,400 college dreams achieved, 1,400 paths to a bright future, 1,400 opportunities to achieve big things.

🫶 None of this is possible without your commitment, dedication, and generosity. Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy and peaceful Thanksgiving.

We're proud to report that our students had another incredible year! Check out some high level highlights (full report at the link in bio):

🎓 100% of seniors accepted into their best-fit college.

📚 587 high school and college students served.

⌚ Over 20,000 hours of programming delivered.

⬆️ 75% of seniors outperformed low-income peers on the SAT.

All of this is made possible by our amazing community of determined students, dedicated volunteers, and proud supporters. It's because of you that our students are forging promising futures.

🔥 Interview skills on! Thank you to all the amazing corporate volunteers who gave their time and talents to our students on Mock Interview Day.

🗨️ Our high school seniors sharpened their interview skills, practiced telling their stories, and gained confidence for upcoming college and job interviews.

This practice makes them ready to crush all the things that come next. So many thanks 🙌

🎓 The Minds Matter NYC Class of 2027 is in the house! It's always a fun day to welcome students back to the classroom, and our juniors and mentors were on fire! 🔥

This year, juniors will work on their college lists, personal statements, SAT prep of course, and for the finale, attending college programs. Big year!

💪We've got a growth mindset here at MMNYC, even for volunteers! On Saturday, MMNYC staff and volunteer leadership gathered for our annual Leadership Retreat, where we explored:

🌪️ The headwinds our students face as they prepare for higher education and meaningful careers.

🎓 Setting our students up for success in high school so they are ready to apply to top-tier colleges.

🫶 How to strengthen team relationships, collaborate effectively, and manage conflict with care.

These conversations are excellent for professional development, AND they prepare our volunteer leadership to nurture a community where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered.
