🌐 UNA–Seton Hall University at UN International Youth Day 2026: Youth and AI Summit 🇺🇳

UNA-SHU was proud to attend the Youth and AI Summit at United Nations Headquarters in New York as part of International Youth Day 2026.

The summit brought together young people, policymakers, and experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence, including AI governance, human rights, peace and security, civil society, creative industries, and the future of the workforce.

Our Secretary, Nyada Bryant, represented UNA-SHU alongside our Director of Social Media & Marketing, Zuleyha Cite, at the Summit. Together, they took part in discussions centered on the role of young people in shaping AI policy and governance, youth leadership, responsible innovation, and the future of artificial intelligence.

The event concluded with the presentation of a youth-led Declaration on AI Policy and Governance, reflecting youth perspectives and recommendations for the future of artificial intelligence.

We are proud of Nyada and Zuleyha for representing UNA-SHU and taking part in global conversations advancing youth leadership, diplomacy, and responsible innovation.

🌍 UNA-Seton Hall University at the UN High-Level Political Forum 2026 🇺🇳

UNA-SHU was proud to attend a United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) side event on Ethical AI, Global Citizenship, and Sustainable Development.

Our chapter was honored to have Dr. Brian Muzás, Advisor to UNA-Seton Hall University, address the forum. He emphasized that technology does not create values. It reflects the values of those who build and use it. His message reminded us that global citizenship means placing human dignity, ethical responsibility, and the common good at the center of AI and innovation.

Representing UNA-SHU, Reagin Jones presented research on using AI, urban planning, and vertical farming to improve food accessibility in underserved communities. Her project demonstrated how technology can help create more sustainable, equitable, and resilient cities when guided by human-centered values.

Our former Director of Social Media, Zuleyha Cite, volunteered and took on a leadership role during the session. Our Director of Projects and Initiatives, Isadora Rodrigues, also participated in the session, along with several other UNA-SHU members.

We are proud of our UNA-SHU representatives for contributing to global conversations that advance diplomacy, ethical innovation, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

On April 20, we participated in the UNA-USA Global Engagement Summit(GES).🇺🇳

As UNA-SHU, we were honored to be part of GES2026 alongside changemakers, advocates, and future leaders committed to building a stronger global community through the United Nations. 🌍
From inspiring conversations to unforgettable moments in the General Assembly Hall, this experience reminded us of the power of youth voices and collective action.
