Press Pause Community Services We all need to press pause, slow down and reflect on what is at hand and the resources we have at ou I have over 20 years working with children and families.

Press Pause has been created to provide information for growth and success with individuals, family units, and the community. Through postings, workshops, group and individual counseling, everyone will have a chance to achieve their highest potential. I am a licensed social worker and special education teacher in the NYC DOE.

Twelve tidbits of advice from the last year (in no particular order)
1. You don’t know someone until you live with them- and I’m not just talking romantically
2. On the same vein before you live with someone make a financial and division of labor plan… have a contingency plan if someone can not uphold their end of the bargain
3. There is beauty all around us… find the glimmer
4. Look beautiful for you
5. The abuser can not see through the eyes of the abused
6. Get the shoes, take the trip, buy the bag… you can’t take money with you when you die
7. Make memories and don’t take pictures of it
8. Step outside- into nature, of your head, of your situation
9. Its not what happens to you that is important- but what you do with it and how you walk away from it
10. You can love someone into becoming what you want or need them to be for you
11. Tell people how you feel… what is the worst that can happen?
12. Don’t ignore the red, orange and yellow flags!!! People tell you exactly who they are…
