The International Youth Council stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal following the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River area of Rasuwa District on 26 August 2026.

Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and with everyone facing the consequences of the floods. We also recognize the ongoing efforts of Nepal’s authorities and responders, volunteers, and communities working to support those in need.

The Government of Nepal has appealed for support through its official relief funds. Those wishing to contribute should use only verified government channels and consult the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers for current bank details and QR codes.

The International Youth Council (IYC) is proud to have co-organized International Youth Day 2026 in Indore alongside Indore 2030
, bringing young people together for an afternoon of dialogue, connection and shared purpose.

With 100+ young people aged 14–24 participating, the gathering created a space for young voices to connect, exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for meaningful youth engagement.

From the interactive activities to the “Same Dreams, Different Roads” panel discussion, the event highlighted the diverse journeys of young people while celebrating the aspirations they share.

🎤 Mir Ranjan Negi delivered an inspiring keynote on resilience and comeback, while Dr. Sonal Sisodia, Principal of DCBM, and Manas Dowlani, Founder of Indore 2030, reinforced the importance of creating pathways for young people to engage beyond their local communities — including opportunities connected to United Nations-linked initiatives and global youth platforms.

IYC extends its sincere appreciation to Indore 2030, DCBM, the National Citizens' Committee, the Global Vision India Foundation, speakers, panellists and every young participant who made this gathering meaningful.

We look forward to creating more spaces where young people can connect, participate, lead and contribute to meaningful change. 🌱

International Youth Day 2026
Young people may grow up in different contexts, but their aspirations remain remarkably aligned. This year, under the UN theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the International Youth Council honours the resilience, leadership, and shared hopes of youth across the world, especially those in least developed countries, landlocked developing nations, and small island developing states.

Across the globe young people consistently call for dignity, quality education, human rights, access to technology, and meaningful opportunities. Their voices remind us that geography should never determine potential.

As an organisation founded at the United Nations and holding Special Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC, the IYC reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that no young person is left behind.
