An unforgettable night of healing, hope, and justice. ✨

At our Gala last month, CVTC celebrated the partnership of GFP and Brian Steinwurtzel and honored our founder, Susan Xenarios, through the presentation of the inaugural Susan Xenarios Legacy Award to Tanya Selvaratnam, whose courage and commitment to justice reflect Susan’s enduring legacy.

Every story shared, every dollar raised, and every person in that room showed what compassion in action truly means.

Thank you for standing with us in festive attire and in solidarity always.

“Showing up for my patients with compassion and sincere support during some of the most challenging and painful moments of their lives, and helping them begin their journey toward healing, makes every moment in the emergency room worthwhile. The opportunity to teach with the SAFE Training Institute at Crime Victims Treatment Center and educate the next generation of forensic nurses in NYC is one of the greatest honors of my career.”

CVTC celebrates the nurses in our community today and every day!

We’re just sprouting with pride this morning! Yesterday, we celebrated 39 advocates as they became NYS Department of Health Certified R**e Crisis Counselors! Over the last year and a half, this fine crew provided support to 196 survivors in emergency departments across the city. We’re so thankful for your care and kind hearts and all that you do for survivors. Show some love to the training class of 2024 in the comments below! 🎉

CVTC stands in solidarity with Dolores Huerta and with all the courageous survivors who find the strength to come forward and speak their truth. As she powerfully shared:

“I have never identified myself as a victim,” she said. “But I now understand that I am a survivor — of violence, of sexual abuse, of domineering men who saw me, and other women, as property, or things to control.”

We believe survivors. We support their voices. And we honor the resilience it takes to speak out.
