We were founded in response to the r**e of a college student, on her campus, at an Ivy League school. For nearly 50 years from that incident, we have fought alongside myriad advocates and survivors to right the injustices, barriers and victim-blaming responses she faced.

It is infuriating that half a century later, we are still fighting for survivors to be heard, believed, protected and treated with dignity. While so much has changed, too much remains the same.

We know that coming forward is always an act of courage, especially when a survivor is confronting an institution or system that has failed to protect them.

That history is why we stand with Jane Doe today. We will continue to advocate for survivors’ rights and work toward a world where every survivor is met with respect, compassion and the opportunity to heal.

CCNY Athletics is highlighting the launch of its new 12-week Futures Without Violence pilot program and the important work of Eric McGriff and Nas Hayes, who are leading this effort with student-athletes from Men’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball.

Their commitment to prevention, healthy relationships, accountability, and building safer communities is making an impact. We’re so proud of Eric and Nas for the work they continue to do!
