Every year over 3 million children are victims of violence and neglect, and those are only the ones that are reported. Because this epidemic is so under-reported, the actual number of children being harmed is 3 times greater. Approximately 3.3 million reports and allegations were made involving an estimated 6 million children in 2009. Every ten seconds, violence and neglect against children is rep

orted. Almost five children die every day as a result of violence and neglect. Nearly 600,000 children live in foster care. Almost 1.8 million are abducted.
