Last week, our Creative Lab program hosted an April Portfolio Building Intensive, and we couldn’t be more proud of our teens!

Over four days, Creative Lab students participated in workshops centered around skill building and professional development: 

Throughout the week, our teens:

✏️ Created self-portraits using observation, proportion, and shading with artist

🖌️ Painted still lifes in acrylic focusing on composition, color, and value with our own

đź’¬ Shared their work in a supportive critique led by artists &

🤝 Participated in speed networking with creative professionals from animation, film, fashion, architecture, graphic design, and more-  including reps from Titmouse, FLAG Art Foundation, 1100 Architect, and beyond. , .anessa_c.astro, , , , ,

In advance of our Gala, our students participated in an exclusive workshop and worked side by side with this year’s Artist Honorees Katherine Bradford, Sasha Gordon, and our Creative Champion Jody Quon.

Together they made exquisite corpses that will be featured at the Gala. These moments capture the heart of Free Arts NYC: intergenerational support, guidance, and the power of creativity to open doors and spark confidence.
