IDEA NYC is a fashion brand, which is produced and marketed by NYC youth, working together with professional artists and designers. We provide underserved youth with the keys to self-sufficiency: a valuable education in creative thinking, innovation, leadership and team building as well as paid employment in the design industry, while they’re learning. We tackle the problem of insufficient numbers

of value-based jobs available to youth and we fill voids in creative arts programs, which schools cannot afford. We do this by empowering and employing NYC teens in an intensive, career-based program of design, creativity and enterprise. Student apprentices partner with professional designers, who take on mentorship roles, to design, produce, market and sell various fashion products, such as t-shirts and accessories. In the process, young designers nurture their creativity, develop entrepreneurship skills and have the opportunity to express their voices and showcase their visions. Youth organization that breeds creativity and entrepreneurship. Our products are fun, unique limited-edition pieces, with new designs featured monthly. Products will bear conspicuous labels, which will clearly identify the brand to consumers who are motivated by the cause. Products are collectively designed and produced locally.
