The Sisterly Relations and Blossoming Pearls Committees enjoyed an afternoon dedicated to what matters most—sisterhood. Over tea and light bites, we stepped away from our usual service commitments to slow down, fellowship, and engage in thoughtful intergenerational conversations.

From shared wisdom to plenty of laughter, the afternoon was a beautiful reminder that the bonds of our sisterhood are strengthened not only through service, but through simply spending time together. Here’s to pouring into one another and creating moments of connection that will last long after the last cup of tea ☕️🩷💚

As advocates for social justice, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Pi Kappa Omega Chapter members joined in the New York City Council’s celebration of the legacy in advocacy, leadership, service, and excellence at the Pan-Hellenic Day at City Hall.

Coming together in unity, the Divine Nine was honored for its impact across communities in the five boroughs.

Thank you to everyone who joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Pi Kappa Omega Chapter’s Building Our Economic Wealth committee at MCM SoHo for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to financial empowerment and wealth protection.

As fraud and cybercrime continue to evolve, the insights shared during this intimate gathering served as an important reminder of the value of protecting what we’ve worked so hard to build. We were honored to engage in meaningful dialogue, intentional networking, and community building alongside an incredible group of professional women.

In honor of Earth Day, today we highlight our Enhance Our Environment initiative.

On April 18th, we partnered with NYC Parks for a hands-on, heart-filled day at the St. Nicholas Miracle Garden in Harlem. From touring the greenhouse to learning about sustainable rainwater irrigation, every moment deepened our connection to the environment and the power of community impact.

We explored seedlings growing atop the shed, learned how to test “expired” seeds, and gained practical tips for soil preparation and composting fruits and veggies.

Moments like these remind us that small, intentional actions can lead to meaningful, lasting change. Thank you to everyone who joined us in nurturing a greener future 💚

As the 9th annual Black Maternal Health Week comes to a close, the members of Pi Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in The City that Never Sleeps celebrates the movement and raises awareness and healing.

While Black motherhood is celebrated as a source of love and beauty, it is simultaneously marred by healthcare systems in the U.S. This year’s theme, Rooted in Justice and Joy, calls for accountability, restoration, and a future where Black families can truly thrive.

Did you know Black and Hispanic women and birth givers made up over 3-out-of-4 pregnancy related deaths, despite accounting for less than half of all live births across NYC?

Did you know Black women have higher rates of infertility than white women (11.2 vs 7.7% respectively)? Black women are 70% less likely to receive infertility treatment and care.

Did you know The One Big Beautiful Bill Act drastically cuts Medicaid funding, potentially leading to devastating cuts in maternal care?

Did you know 30% of Black women, 29% of Hispanic women, and 27% of multiracial women reported mistreatment during maternity care?
