Israel Action Network

Israel Action Network Israel Action Network is a project of the JFNA, in partnership with the JCPA, to counter assaults made on Israel's legitimacy.

The Israel Action Network (IAN) is a strategic initiative of The Jewish Federations of North America, in partnership with the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, created to counter assaults made on Israel’s legitimacy. Israel today faces an intensive and increasingly sophisticated assault on its right to exist as a sovereign democratic Jewish state. The IAN was created to educate, organize and mobi

lize the organized North American Jewish community to develop strategic approaches to countering these assaults and develop innovative efforts to change the conversation about Israel and achieving peace and security for two states for two peoples. Our work is grounded in building strong relationships with people of faith, human rights advocates, political and civic leaders, and friends and neighbors in our communities. With the help of these allies, we are developing a broader understanding of Israel and Israelis and are working together to address these issues. IAN leverages and maximizes our unique work at the local level for greatest impact on the continental and global stages. The collective ability of JFNA’s 153 Jewish Federations and over 300 small non-Federated communities, along with JCPA’s 14 national member agencies and 125 local community relations committees/councils, is central to altering this trend. We are a network countering a network. IAN is your go-to source for the latest information, trends, researched messages that work, strategies and best practices both to counter delegitimization and to undertake affirmative forward-looking initiatives.

We are thrilled that the House passed The Middle East Partnership for Peace Act today!!

We’re thrilled to share that the U.S. House of Representatives has just passed the Middle East Partnership for Peace Act (MEPPA), historic legislation that provides $250 million over five years for grassroots peacebuilding and economic development efforts in Israel/Palestine

For over a decade, ALLMEP has called for large-scale international funding for Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding programs. This is because we know the transformative power of people-to-people interactions and believe them to be a prerequisite for long-term peace.

The passage of MEPPA is thanks to the determination of Congresswoman Nita Lowey and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, who have been vocal champions of our community in Congress for many years.

Led by ALLMEP, MEPPA has gathered an unprecedented coalition of support from across the ideological spectrum– including AJC - American Jewish Committee, AIPAC, Alliance for Peacebuilding, ADL - Anti-Defamation League, Ameinu, Americans for Peace Now, Churches for Middle East Peace, Israel Action Network, Israel Policy Forum, Jewish Council for Public Affairs, Jewish Federations of North America, J Street, National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), New Israel Fund, Partners for Progressive Israel, and T'ruah– all in support of advancing Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding.

We look forward to MEPPA's advancement in the Senate in the coming months.
