Right 2 Thrive was founded by Janet Patry upon returning from a trip to Nairobi, Kenya where she worked as a volunteer teacher at Neemaland Orphanage. The mission of Right 2 Thrive was inspired by the incredible children who in spite of the great many losses they have endured, bring so much joy and love to this world. With a simple shift in the sharing of resources we can achieve our vision of a world in which all people embrace their right to thrive.

"Listening is the bridge that connects understanding and respect, allowing us to build stronger connections with each other."

Today's session highlighted the critical role of listening in effective communication. By actively listening to the children's questions and ideas, we created a space for them to feel heard and valued. This not only boosts their confidence but also encourages them to express themselves more openly. Through this exchange, we reinforced the importance of mutual respect and understanding, laying a foundation for stronger relationships and better communication skills.

The session was incredibly insightful, as we explored how easily information can be distorted. The kids did a fantastic job demonstrating various scenarios where initial information was correct, but got twisted along the way. It really highlighted the importance of verifying facts and not jumping to conclusions. It's a valuable lesson for all of us to remember. In this case, effective communication is key, and always follow up and seek the truth before forming opinions.

The room buzzed with excitement as students took turns acting out various scenarios in a lively game of charades. From miming everyday actions to more complex concepts, each performance highlighted the power of non-verbal communication. The audience erupted in laughter and cheers, guessing the actions and ideas being portrayed. This exercise underscored the significance of understanding and interpreting non-verbal cues, essential for effective communication. The session was not only informative but also incredibly fun, fostering a deeper appreciation for how we connect and interact with each other beyond words.

This week, our focus is on Communication,a cornerstone of human interaction, encompassing both verbal and non-verbal forms. Verbal communication utilizes spoken or written words, while non-verbal communication includes body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice. For students, effective communication is particularly vital, playing a pivotal role in their academic and personal development.
Mastering these skills is crucial for collaboration with peers, active participation in classroom discussions, and confidently presenting ideas. It significantly enhances academic success by improving comprehension, critical thinking, and the ability to articulate thoughts.
By developing strong communication abilities, students can build meaningful connections, express themselves clearly, and navigate various social and professional environments with greater ease and success. This foundation equips them to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. 😂😂😂
"After weeks of serious life lessons, I found myself in an intense run, hope, step, and jump showdown with a Grade 1 student. I gave it my all... but let's just say I now know what humility—and a bruised ego—feel like!"-Annete.

This image showcases a powerful example of empathy, as one of our Mentor interacts with the schoolgirls. She is genuinely connecting with the children, considering their individual needs and perspectives. This empathetic approach fosters a strong mentor-student relationship built on trust and understanding. Such a connection can significantly impact the children, as they learn to express their feelings and develop social skills. Empathy extends to the parents, as they are able to understand their children's needs and communicate in a way that reassures and supports them. This creates a supportive community that encourages the students' growth and development

Empathy is like a superpower for students. In the busy world of school and home, it helps build stronger friendships, handle conflicts calmly, and create a caring, supportive environment. Picture a classroom where everyone truly understands one another, cheering each other on during the good times and offering support during tough moments. At home, empathy brings siblings closer and deepens family connections. It's more than just being kind—it's about forming real, meaningful connections that make everyday life more positive and fulfilling

We started our week with the theme of Empathy.
Empathy is the bridge that connects hearts and minds. It’s more than just feeling sorry for someone — it’s the powerful ability to truly understand and share in another person's emotions. For students, empathy is especially important — it helps build stronger friendships, reduces bullying, and creates a more supportive and respectful school environment. When students practice empathy, they learn to work better in teams, resolve conflicts peacefully, and become more compassionate leaders. Choosing empathy isn’t just about being nice — it’s about becoming the kind of person who makes the world a better place.

They say you can look at a glass and see it as half full or half empty.
Optimists choose to see it as half full. Why? Because they focus on what’s there—not what’s missing.

Optimists aren’t happy because life is perfect. They’re happy because they choose to see the good, even in hard times.
Where others see problems, they see possibilities. Where others say “I can’t,” they say, “Let me try again.”

Being optimistic doesn’t mean ignoring reality—it means facing it with hope and a strong heart.

Here’s what optimists do differently:
They look for what’s working instead of only what’s wrong.
They believe challenges are temporary, not permanent.
They focus on solutions, not just complaints.
They speak kindly to themselves and others.

So what do you see?
A half-empty glass?
Or a life still full of hope, chances, and growth?

At InnerCircle Empowerment Program, we are proud to be optimistic—we teach our children, parents, and teachers to focus on hope, growth, and what’s possible.

“Before you judge, understand. Before you react, listen. Everyone’s story is deeper than what you see.”

We have different appearances – and every face is beautiful.
We have different personalities – some are quiet, some loud, all valid.
We have different strengths – and each one matters.
Let’s stop comparing and start celebrating our uniqueness.

Understanding each other is a cornerstone of any successful learning environment. When students take the time to truly understand one another, they create a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. This can lead to more effective collaboration, as students are better, able to communicate and work together towards common goals. Furthermore, understanding each other fosters empathy, which is essential for navigating the complexities of the world.
