This year marks twenty years since the founding of the Israel at Heart program, an initiative dedicated to Ethiopian-Israeli students that has, over two decades, sent Reichman University graduates into Israel’s diplomatic corps, top law firms, intelligence units, and Ivy League universities.

After two decades, the program has helped demonstrate that the children and grandchildren of those who walked out of Ethiopia with nothing can, given the opportunity, rise to the very top of Israeli society, in its courtrooms, its embassies, its newsrooms, and its most elite military units.

We’re proud to see members of the community featured in a Jerusalem Post article about the experience of international students at Reichman University - International School.
The article follows the stories of students like Levi Preger, who discovered his Jewish roots as a teenager, made aliyah, served as a lone soldier in the IDF, and found support at the RRIS during reserve duty. It also highlights Rachel Eskandry’s journey from Florida to Israel, where she chose to make aliyah, serve in the army, and continue her studies at Reichman University.
From academic flexibility for reservists and lone soldiers to an international campus community that supports students through every stage of their journey, the RRIS continues to be a place where students can feel at home. As Jonathan Davis said: “If we provide tender loving care, if we embrace these people and take them by the hand, everything else follows.”

Reichman University - International School Student of the Week 👨‍🎓Meet Jacob!
“Hi everyone! My name is Jacob Weinstein. I’m 23 years old. I’m from Long Island, New York. I’m currently in my third year studying Computer Science and Entrepreneurship at the .
I chose to study here because I wanted to spend my college years in Israel, and Herzliya has been an awesome place to do that.
My favorite part of Reichman University is the campus. It’s a beautiful place to walk through, and the abstract art scattered around always keeps things interesting. The sumo wrestler statue outside the Aquarium definitely keeps me going when things get tough, and shoutout to the campus cats too 🐱
Studying here has really pushed me to balance heavy technical and creative workloads simultaneously, which is a skill I know I’ll carry with me. I’ve also met so many amazing people along the way.
I hope to use my degree to break into the game development industry and make some magic there 🎮✨”
