Apollo Theater Education Program The Apollo Theater Education Program extends the Apollo Theater’s commitment to enhancing the life

The Education Program focuses on four distinct areas of learning and engagement: residencies, workshops and tours for schools; curriculum materials aligned to state and national learning standards and study guides derived from the Theater’s history; career development for teens and adults through the Apollo Theater Academy; and discussions and lectures for the public that highlight the history of the Apollo and its impact on American art, culture and entertainment.

Applications for our Arts Administration Internship Program are now open! This is a 💸PAID💸 opportunity!

Are you a NYC-based High school senior interested in a career in arts and entertainment? Do you enjoy working on projects as part of a team?

Selected interns will work with Apollo Arts administrators for nine weeks and learn how to develop meaningful events and programs. Interns will also curate the concept for our signature summer event, .

Workshops and required work will be delivered on-site at the Apollo Theater for the majority of the internship.

Check out our photo recap from this week’s Dance, NYC Street Style, and Hip Hop presented in collaboration with The Museum at FIT.

In a discussion led by FIT professor Elena Romero, Violeta Galagarza, and Safi Thomas discussed the relationship between hip hop, dance, and fashion and its transformation throughout time.

Members from dance groups, KR3TS (Keep Rising to the Top) and H+(The Hip Hop Dance Conservatory) also performed on stage demonstrating the evolution of hip hop dance from the 70's to the present day. Major applause to them for bringing the energy!

This program teaches students how to tell compelling digital stories and provides the opportunity to learn from professionals who are excelling in creative industries.
