ANNOUNCEMENT | ANNONCE

We’re delighted to announce that MJM has been selected with our partners, artist and architect Anna Kamyshan, and curators Maria Veits and Yevgeniy Fiks, to present a brand new open-air installation as a Collateral Event for the La Biennale di Venezia 2026.

𝘕𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘦 is a floating synagogue suspended in the air, exposed to the forces of nature, visible to all. Visitors to the Biennale will be able to witness, day and night, this symbol of eternal light in the sky shining across the lagoon near the Arsenale.

MJM is one of the first Jewish museums to ever organize a Collateral Event at the Venice Biennale in its 130-year history and we are proud to represent our city and Montreal’s Jewish community at this singular festival.

𝘕𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘦 will be on view at the La Biennale di Venezia from July 16 through September 16.

To stay updated on the project as it comes to life, visit the project's website: https://nabatele.world/. More soon!

Currently, a dozen of our member museums are featured on Google Arts & Culture. This platform enables museums to upload items from their collections and create online exhibitions. This is particularly appealing to museums without their own online collection because creating one can be a significant undertaking.

Additionally, past temporary exhibitions can be made available long term on Google Arts & Culture using the platform's interactive storytelling tools. Having a presence there can increase a museum's visibility and help it reach digital visitors far beyond its own geographical reach.

If your museum is interested in joining Google Arts & Culture, submit a partnership inquiry through their official website to start the onboarding process. Google also collaborates with institutions to digitize their collections, create high-resolution images with tools such as Art Camera, and publish online exhibitions.

A list of all our members on Google Arts & Culture can be found in the comments.

We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and experiences with us, as well as any concerns you may have about this platform.
