Happy Earth Day (every day)! 🌎💚

This Earth Day Festival, we asked YOU to describe your ideal space! 🏠✨ You told us you want it all: quieter homes, cleaner air, comfortable temperatures year-round, and a pest-free environment. 🌿
Guess what? That isn’t just a dream—it’s a Passive House. 🚀

Passive House buildings in NYC and beyond are designed to do exactly that:
Quiet: Superior insulation & windows block city noise.
Clean Air: Continuous filtered ventilation keeps pollutants out.
Comfortable: Constant, even temperatures mean no cold spots or overheating.
Healthy: Airtight construction prevents mold and keeps pests away.
Affordable: By using 60–90% less energy for heating and cooling, these are cheaper to run and protect you from rising utility spikes.

Building a better future means building better buildings.

Talk Description Metropolitan cities present the greatest challenge for advancing energy efficiency. Aging building stock, complex urban regulations, and the need for tenants to remain in place during renovations all create significant barriers. Using Athens, Greece, as a case study, this talk combines simulation-based analysis with real-world data to address crucial questions relevant to large cities worldwide. Passivhaus offers a clear pathway forward, yet transforming an entire city at once is not feasible....

On May 21st, NY Passive House teamed up with the National Clean Water Collective, which hosted the 7th Annual Pen PALs Youth Justice Forum at Boricua College. This was a powerful and inspiring event showcasing youth leadership and environmental justice. Groups of NYC students presented research projects on key environmental issues such as air pollution, water contamination, food quality & access, transportation, and safety of homes and buildings. NYPH joined over a dozen other NYC environmental organizations in hosting tables during the networking hour. Board members Vicki Yee and Amy Failla engaged with many eager young students about the concepts of Passive House. It was a fun and rewarding day!
