Harlem SGL LGBTQ Center Harlem Center is a hub and resource source center for NYC’s SGL•LGBTQ community.

MISSION
The mission of the Harlem SGL•LGBTQ Center is to provide a safe, culturally competent, environment in which to offer programs and services, and to foster a sense of community for Same Gender Loving, Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Q***r residents of New York City, their families, friends and allies. The goals of the Harlem SGL•LGBTQ Center are:

•Develop programming to keep our youth involved in positive, affirming activities

•Provide a comfort zone for our seniors; a place where they can gather, socialize and feel at home

•Provide educational, social and cultural programming for all members of our community

•Provide space for offices, meetings and activities

•Celebrate the illustrious history of Harlem and its SGL•LGBTQ community

Harlem Center is proud to participate in spreading the word about this unique opportunity – the NYC Council Speaker Adrienne E. Adams’ free Estate Planning Clinic on November 18th. Space is limited. Participants will receive:

◾ A private, two-hour estate-planning interview with a pro bono (free) attorney
◾ An opportunity to draft and execute a power of attorney on the day
◾ An opportunity to draft and execute a health care proxy on the day
◾ Referral to a pro bono (free) legal services organization to assist with drafting a will
◾ Notes detailing the topics discussed at the estate-planning clinic
◾ A resource packet on other estate planning matters

Access to an online Learning Center and a Webinar on the importance and process of planning will be available free to the general public Space is limited and pre-screening and attendance at the preparatory webinar is mandatory to participate in the free clinic.

Income restrictions may apply to qualify for pro bono (free) services. To receive more

This town hall-style gathering will be a unique opportunity for all New Yorkers to engage directly with our Public Advocate and discuss the pressing issues facing our communities.
