Our Men’s Youth 8 put out a nice showing to win their final at Youth Nationals. With that result, the boat finished 25th overall. Like with our other two Youth Nationals 8s, this boat had a great regular season that saw them in the A final at Mercer Sprints, earn a Silver Medal at the Saratoga Invite and finished 4th at NY States to qualify for Sarasota.

This senior driven group has left a strong legacy with the team and we very much appreciate everything you guys have contributed during your time with the club. The future is bright because of you!

Congratulations to Ian McCloskey ‘26 on getting invited to the United States Under 19 National Team Selection Camp!

McCloskey is one of only 26 athletes from around the US headed to the camp, hosted by USRowing in Chula Vista, California from June 22-July 31.

Those at the camp at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center will compete for a spot on the team that will represent the United States at the World Rowing U19 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria from Aug. 1-9.

Ian has been an integral member of the Boys team beginning with his freshman year where he helped drive the 2v8 to a medal at NY States and then raced in the boat at Youth Nationals. From there, McCloskey has continually driven the standard of the team with his incredibly high work ethic and desire to compete at the top level of the sport. He has set our 2k record at 6:06 and our 5k record at 16:19.7 (1:37.9 avg split). Having competed in our Varsity 8 since sophomore year, Ian has helped the boat achieve Top 15 finishes at both Youth Nationals and the Head of the Charles. Now as a senior, he will be making his 3rd appearance at Youth Nationals and will be aiming to help the Varsity 8 achieve an outstanding result. After graduation, Ian will be attending Brown University where he will be an athlete on the Men’s team.

Finally, Ian joins Abe Eligator ‘20, Lindsey Brail ‘22 and Moose Harrison ‘22 as PCRA athletes who have been chosen over the last few years to compete at Selection Camp.

Captains Dinner 2026

Last night we held our annual Captains Dinner where we look back on the last years success, give out our Spring Season awards and honor the graduating Seniors.

The Class of 2026 is the biggest we’ve had in recent memory at 18 and they’ve all played a big role in putting the program in the position we find ourselves in today. Leaders on and off the water, this Senior class has defined what it means to be a part our team at PCRA through their commitment, dedication and willingness to consistently improve. Many will go on to compete in college and we can’t wait to see what they do at that level. A huge thank you goes out to these Seniors and know that PCRA will always be home for you.

Next up, our Parents Association continues to provide us the best support in too many ways to count and we are grateful for everything they do. Our food tent at regattas is unmatched and makes a huge difference. Thank you!

Congrats to this springs award winners:

Best In Boathouse - Emily Schumann

Most Improved - the Girls novice group

Spirit Award - Emilia Day

Best in Boathouse - Ian McCloskey

Most Improved - Javi Jacobs

Spirit Award - James Hamilton

Our two Brian Lilly Jr Envision Success award winners this year were Lorenzo Cohen and Juliet Hutton. Both serve their respective teams as Captains and set an incredible example through their work ethic and very positive demeanor.

Next up for us will be Youth Nationals in Sarasota where we will compete in the Men’s Youth 8, Men’s U17 8 and Women’s Youth 8!
