Last week, during National Migration Week, the Mission Integration Advisory Committee at St. Cabrini Nursing Home held a ‘Mission in Action’ project in which they chose to collect school supplies. Cabrini Immigrant Services of Dobbs Ferry (CIS-DF) distributed these supplies to their children. Fr. Ron Galt, Vice President of Pastoral Care and Mission, visited CIS-DF to help with the distribution, where he blessed the supplies, each child, their families, and the staff at CIS-DF.

Thank you to all who donated to the ‘Mission in Action’ project!

Last Friday, our office held an event in recognition of National Migration Week and World Day of Migrants and Refugees. 🌎 We were joined by current and former clients, neighbors, and local advocates. We got to showcase our staff’s hard work, hear a few words from our clients, eat a variety of food from across Latin America, dance and pray together. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us! If you would like to know how to further support our mission, please visit the link in our bio.

Today is World Day of Migrants and Refugees, closing out National Migration Week. This year's theme, "Even just one of these children," is a call to welcome every child who arrives here.

We welcomed Carmen (name changed) and her two children, when they had nowhere else to turn. Our team immediately offered Carmen resources like essential infant care items, MetroCards and visa cards, and began working with her to establish broader support for her family through access to our Food Pantry, ongoing case management, supportive therapy, and our support group for parents. These programs helped empower her in navigating a new country and experience moments of joy with her family.

Give today and help us welcome families like Carmen's: www.cis-nyc.org/donate

This year, National Migration Week provides an opportunity to reflect on our duty to welcome every migrant child as the Gospel teaches us.

When violence forced her family to flee Colombia, a mother crossed the border alone with her 2-year-old son to reunite with her partner. She didn't know the language, the legal process, or how she would ensure her son had access to education and other opportunities in an unfamiliar country.

At CIS-NYC, she found legal help, access to healthy food, and a supportive community. "My life is different after knowing Cabrini," she told us. "I feel more confident and supported."

Help us welcome the next family with a donation at www.cis-nyc.org/donate
